Understand how people choose to travel

Transport plans and mass transit projects depend on knowing how people travel today and how they would respond to new options. AIR designs and runs Revealed Preference (RP) and Stated Preference (SP) surveys that feed directly into travel demand models, mode-choice analysis and willingness-to-pay estimates.

What we deliver

  • Survey design with transport planners, including choice experiments and attribute levels
  • CAPI questionnaires on KoBoToolbox or SurveyCTO, translated into Bangla and piloted
  • Face-to-face intercept surveys along corridors, at stations and at households
  • Phone-based SP surveys using existing respondent databases
  • Sampling that follows income, mode and trip-purpose quotas
  • Cleaned datasets, codebooks and summary reports ready for modelling

Experience

Our teams have completed an RP survey of 1,500 respondents on the MRT Line-6 corridor, an SP survey of 1,200 respondents on the Airport–Mohakhali–Kamalapur corridor, a phone SP survey of 400 rickshaw users for the Revised Strategic Transport Plan (ADB/DTCA), and the SP survey for the Dhaka MRT Line-2 PPP preliminary study.
