Project ##

Description of Services

Our team executed a meticulous and multi-step approach to conduct the Vehicle Classified Traffic Count Survey at Bhairab Bridge. This project involved advanced planning, data collection, and thorough processing to provide reliable and detailed insights into traffic flow. Below are the key services we provided for this project:

  • Development of Field Survey Plan
We developed a detailed field survey plan to ensure that our data collection process was efficient, thorough, and met all project objectives. This included defining the survey’s scope, selecting survey locations near Bhairab Bridge, and creating a structured timeline to achieve the data collection goals. Each step in our plan was carefully tailored to meet the unique needs of the project.

  • Pre-Field Visit and Assessment
Before beginning the main survey, our team conducted a pre-field visit to assess the conditions of the road and survey sites. This visit allowed us to evaluate the physical environment, check for any potential obstacles, and refine our survey plan based on the actual site conditions. This proactive step ensured that our equipment and team were fully prepared for effective data collection.

  • Recruitment of Field Personnel
We assembled a team of experienced field personnel tailored specifically to this project’s requirements. Our recruitment process focused on selecting individuals with the necessary skills and experience in traffic data collection, ensuring that our team was capable of handling the demands of the survey and accurately classifying vehicles.

  • Training of Field Staff
To maintain high data quality and consistency, we provided in-depth training to all field staff. Training covered the use of video recording equipment, data collection techniques, adherence to project protocols, and vehicle classification standards. Our staff was also trained to manage unforeseen challenges on-site, ensuring smooth and uninterrupted data collection.

  • 72-Hour Continuous Video Recording in Two Directions
We conducted a continuous 72-hour video recording survey over two weekdays and one weekend. The survey covered both directions of traffic flow at two intersections near Bhairab Bridge in Kishoreganj. This setup allowed us to capture extensive traffic data across various conditions and times, providing a comprehensive view of vehicle movement patterns.

  • 5-Minute Interval Video Segmentation and Vehicle Classification
To ensure accurate data analysis, we segmented the (72 hours 2 directions) 144 hours of video data into 5-minute intervals. Each segment was reviewed meticulously to classify and count vehicles across 13 different types, giving us a detailed breakdown of vehicle types at frequent intervals.

  • Aggregation of Vehicle Counts
For a clearer analysis of traffic patterns, we aggregated the vehicle counts at different time intervals:

    • 15-Minute Aggregation: We combined data from every three 5-minute segments to observe short-term trends.
    • Hourly Aggregation: We compiled the vehicle counts into hourly intervals to provide a broader view of traffic flow and peak hours over the survey period.
  • Data Cleaning and Quality Assurance
Once the vehicle counts were collected and organized, our team performed thorough data cleaning and quality assurance. We used advanced data processing techniques to verify accuracy, cross-check classifications, and ensure consistency. This final quality control step guaranteed that the data provided to the client was accurate, reliable, and ready for in-depth analysis.

Through each of these steps, we demonstrated our commitment to delivering high-quality traffic survey data tailored to the project’s objectives. This comprehensive approach allows our clients to make informed decisions based on precise and reliable traffic information.
